What To Expect in Working Together
Beginning therapy can bring up a lot. Here's a simple step-by-step breakdown so you know exactly what to expect from the beginning.
Getting Started
Finding the right therapist is an important part of the journey. During this 15 minute video consultation, you’ll have space to share what you're hoping for, ask any questions, and get a feel for how I work. There’s no pressure—this is simply a chance for us to connect and see if it feels like a good fit. You can take time to think about it. If it feels right to both of us, we’ll move forward to step two.
If it feels like a good fit, we’ll schedule your first session—For both individuals and couples we begin with an 80 minute intake. You’ll receive details for either visiting my office or joining virtually via a secure video link, along with access to the client portal to complete a few forms ahead of time. In this session, we’ll take our time exploring what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping to shift, expand, or grow toward.
From here, we’ll move at a pace that honors your unique rhythm and capacity. Ongoing sessions are 50 or 80 minutes and focus on supporting connection—with yourself, your emotions, and your deeper needs. Whether you're exploring patterns rooted in the past or expanding your capacity for presence, we’ll stay curious together. This is a collaborative process—gently uncovering what’s in the way of connection, and creating space for the change and healing that feels most meaningful to you.
Steady support. Guided with intention. Your process, your pace.
FAQs

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to navigate it all on your own. Therapy can offer a space to gain clarity, strengthen self-awareness, and build more meaningful connection—with yourself and with others. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit. Some clients would self identify as high-functioning adults who are seeking greater emotional ease, clarity, and more satisfying relationships.
I specialize in therapy that focuses on supporting those navigating trauma and the ways it can show up in anxiety, low mood, and difficulties in relationships. Whether you're coming in as an individual or with a partner, you’re welcome here—especially if you're ready to explore at your own pace.
Not sure if therapy is the right step? I offer a free 15–20 minute consultation so you can ask questions and get a sense of whether this feels like a good fit for you.

First, I intentionally work with a smaller caseload so I can offer deeply personalized support. Our work together is centered entirely on you—your needs, your pace, and your goals.
Second, the approaches I utilize go beyond the cognitive heavy models that are often ineffective for treating trauma. I’m here to support you in reconnecting with your deepest desires, rebuilding trust in your intuition, in your relationships, and uncovering the inner strength that’s always been there. Together, we’ll explore what truly matters to you—your “why”—so you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and self-trust.
Lastly, I stay actively engaged in ongoing training, consultation, and mentorship. These relationships continue to deepen and refine my work—and that growth directly benefits my clients. You’re not just working with a therapist—you’re working with someone who’s always learning, reflecting, and showing up with intention. -
Insurance & Payment
I don’t work directly with insurance, and this is an intentional choice to keep therapy more private and client-centered.
That said, many clients are still able to get partial reimbursement through their PPO insurance plan or pay with an HSA/FSA card. If you’d like to explore this option, I’ll provide a superbill (a receipt with the details insurance companies require) that you can submit to your insurance.
Every plan is different, so I recommend calling your provider and asking a few simple questions like:
Do you cover out-of-network therapy sessions?
What percentage do you reimburse?
Do you cover telehealth as well as in-person?
This way you’ll know exactly what to expect.

Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) outlining the expected costs of therapy.
This estimate provides transparent pricing information so there are no unexpected costs. While the number of sessions you may need is unique to you, I can discuss potential costs and answer any questions during our consultation or first session.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises- CMS website.

I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots on my caseload. Please message me to join the waitlist and I will be happy to notify you if an opening becomes available.

Therapeutic intensives are extended sessions (often 2–5 hours or multiple days) designed to accelerate healing by allowing deeper, more focused work in a condensed time frame. Unlike traditional weekly therapy, intensives minimize the stop-start nature of shorter sessions and allow space to explore core patterns, address crises, or create major breakthroughs without being rushed.

Cancellation Policy
I understand that life can be unpredictable, and sometimes plans need to change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please try to let me know at least 48 hours in advance—by text or email.
Everyone gets one grace pass per year—because life happens. After that, no-shows and late cancellations with less than 48 hours notice are charged the full session fee regardless of reason. Rescheduling for another time during the same week is sometimes an option, depending on availability.
Your appointment time is set aside just for you, and consistent participation is an important part of the therapy process. We’ll work together to create a rhythm that supports your goals and growth.

The length of therapy varies based on your unique needs and goals. After our initial intake session, I’ll offer a recommendation tailored to your situation. My intention is always to support you in building capacity to navigate life’s challenges on your own — as soon as you feel ready.

I’m honored to support clients navigating the emotional challenges that can arise during family transitions. While I can provide therapeutic care during this time, it’s important to know that offering recommendations related to custody, visitation, or placement falls outside my scope of practice. I’m also not available to participate in court proceedings. If those services are needed, I’m happy to offer referrals to therapeutic professionals who specialize in this area.

Our initial consult call is really just a conversation about what your needs are and what I can offer. If I have a sense you’d be better served by another clinician or with a model I do not specialize in, I am happy to provide those referrals or resources. I understand as a client myself, that sometimes a therapist can be a great person but you just want someone or something different and that’s okay! I don’t take it personally. My aim is first and foremost to help you find the best support for your needs.

This is a great question, for a couple of reasons. First, even if you’ve done therapy before, it will for sure be a different experience than you and I would have together. If we decide to move forward in working together, therapy with me is collaborative, compassionate, and respectful of your pace. As a NARM therapist, I approach our work with curiosity, not judgment. Instead of focusing only on symptoms or diagnoses, we explore the underlying patterns—often developed early in life in order to survive your environment. These patterns are likely affecting how you relate to yourself and others today.
You can expect a space where you're not "fixed" or analyzed, but instead met with attunement and respect for your resilience. We'll work together to untangle the patterns that no longer serve you, without needing to rehash every traumatic memory. NARM is less about what happened, and more about how what happened shaped your connection to self and others—and how you’d like to reclaim that connection now.
My role is to help you access more choice, aliveness, and connection—not by pushing, but by staying in relationship with your present-moment experience. Whether we’re working with anxiety, shame, boundaries, or developmental trauma, we move at a pace that honors your nervous system and your goals. If this sounds like the kind of therapy you’re looking for, I’d love to chat.

Yes, I do have experience working with LGBTQ+ clients, and it’s something I hold with care and intention. I approach this work through an affirming and inclusive lens, which means I honor each person’s identity, lived experience, and the complexity that can come with navigating systems that haven’t always felt safe or validating.
I understand that trust can take time, especially for those who’ve felt unseen or misunderstood in traditional therapy spaces. My goal is to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself—without needing to educate me or explain why your identity matters. If something ever feels off or unclear, I welcome open conversation so we can move through it together.
